On 22 April 2026, as part of the Symposium on Custom and Law – the first of its kind to be held in Turkey – hosted by Yeditepe University, a presentation entitled “From Custom to the Magna Carta: Tracing the Presumption of Innocence” was delivered; the historical development of the presumption of innocence and its place in modern criminal procedure law were examined.
